Another British native

This Dune Helleborine Epipactis dunensis was pointed out by a volunteer warden at the Sefton Coastal Nature Reserve. Not very obvious I admit, but fairly interesting.

That is cool. This past Sunday, my orchid society had a guest speaker who spoke on "Growing Hardy Orchids' and he had photos of the native orchids of North America and particularly the ones in my area. I was amazed to see all the different ones. This one reminds me of the 'rattlesnake' orchid (I forget the proper name) that he showed us. It must be so cool to see these in situ. Thanks for sharing!

Do you mean the downy rattlesnake orchid or downy rattlesnake plantain, i.e. Goodyera pubescens? I have a few planted in my backyard, hoping they will bloom for me this fall. What was the speakers name, if you don't mind me asking?

I think it's cute! My son's back garden is carpeted in the local Isle of Lewis orchids. Must look them up.
