Bulbophyllum lobbi

Was told that this is the biggest lobbi in Malaysia. They said the diameter is about 7 inches. When I measured it is about 5 X 4 inches.I dont know may be the flower spike arise from the small pseudobulb. Anyway the color also very nice. I will wait another bloom later.The whole plant is not that big and you can see the photo below.

It is mounted on the branch of Rambutan tree. Need regular watering at least once a day.

Ooh, I am jealous. I have this species, but it's not happy. I'm thinking of moving it to my other, (slightly) cooler area. Beautiful flowers. What have you mounted it on?

Rob there are two type of lobbi , cool and warm climate.The cool one like Ron posted 2 weeks ago. When you bring down to lowland its very lazy to bloom. In contrast lowland type the flower really very big about 6 to 7 inches. Before I mounted to the rambutan tree I will put some sphagnum moss on top of the spot to absorb some moisture after watering it.. I hope by shifting to cooler area its will improve the rate of growing and flowering also.Good luck.
