Smile New growth or shoot on TOP of a pseudobulb

I just had to take some pictures of the strangest little new growth I am getting on the top of one of my pbulbs of my catts. Essentially, the leaf that was on this pbulb yellowed and died, and when I took a closer look, I realized it was because it was developing a new growth ON TOP of the pbulb!! It is the strangest thing ever. Has this ever happened to anyone else? Or know why this might have happened? It looks so wierd!! (please disregard the scary black-looking stuff...I took that off after I took the picture). You can even see little roots starting to grow, and there is ANOTHER new growth coming on the side of this one!! Its the most crazy thing that has happened to me yet with my catts, that's for sure!!!!
