I finally flasked - Lighting question....

(No this is not Paula Dean posting) Just me, Doodlekitty.


Well I finally took the plunge and just completed my 1st flasking attempt. I've researched for months and months and THINK I did it all right but what I didn't research was exactly how to store the flasks. I flasked on Saturday and know I need to set them up under some lights but from what I read, they don't need much (they're dends). Help and thanks!

Thanks Cherub....I don't think it was bravery as much as it was insanity....I'm still reeling from the chlorox.

6-8 inches from T12s or T8s 200-600 footcandles, temps low to middle 70s not direct sun, watch out for owerheating.

ok thanks. Are these T12s and 8s regular type of lighting I can get in the local home improvement store?

A T8 is a flourescent tube that is one inch diameter (measured in eighths of all things!) and a T 12 is a flourescent bulb that is 1 1/2 inches in diameter ( 12 eighths = T12). I use 4 foot long flourescent T12 bulbs for my birds and for my flower carts.
