Hi all!
Just thought I'd share some pics of this amazingly tall amarylis spike; I got the bulb from Connie in a trade. It has two blooms and the longest spike I've ever seen!! Thanks Connie!!

Nice! I heard that they are tall when they don’t get enough light. Is it true?
And what you are going to do with the bulb? I plant them in my backyard but don’t know what I should do next.
You can grow these in a pot. I have been growing on for several years. It keeps multiplying and I divide and spread out the bulbs. This summer I planted them in a three foot round container. It should be a massive show later in the year when they come up again. So, you don't have to plant them in the yard unless you want to. I was afraid it was too cold here for them to make it through the winter. But maybe they would have? Not sure.

Bruce,
My understanding is they do not tolerate freezing conditions very well, if at all, but of course this is what I hear from sources in my part of the world where it does get slightly colder than where you are! Since you have so many, you might consider trying a couple in the ground over the winter and see what happens.
Cheers,
Rob
