Um, that is quite possibly the coolest thing I've ever seen. WOW!!!![]()
WOW it looks like an antique French bistro wall coat hook coming out of a beautiful flower ...
It is spectacular, the profile picture is amazing.
I wonder what pollinates it.
hi zain, i need a surgery to fix my jaw, its your fault! lol
@lambert
this is the funniest and most artistic description i have heard, give us more!!!
From the articles , the pollinator either bees or insects.
(Cynoches are unusual in that they can produce male or female flowers which affect the method of its pollination by bees and insects. Botanists have identified that this species discharges its pollinia onto insects and bees, which they carry and pollinate other flowers.)
Wow! Fascinating flowers!
That is so coolWOW!
Cheers,

Hi all... .....congratulations Zainal !!
This beautiful Cycnoches warscewiczii. has the lip heart-shaped ... the flowers like smells to banana popsicle.
It is not Cynoches chlorochilon or ventricosum.Three species are similar

Cycnoches chlorochilon
Looks like yours in the lip, but la green depression in front the base of the column is different.

The species ventricosum
It is also close to C. warscewiczii ...but is easily recognizable by the white-lipped, sharp and attenuated. Look as at the apex (tip) also seems a heart but very pointed.... and the depression in front the base of the column ....la ves?

The unisexual flowers with both sexes sometimes on the same spike but not hermaphroditic flowers. Many more male flowers are produced than female with the main diference being that the male flowers have a longer column with a spring loaded pollina that can be ejected onto a pollinator.
In other words, inflorescence with flowers unisexual monomorphic in separate inflorescences. With 1-8 male flowers or female flowers 1-2, yellow-green, the white disc with the callus dark green .
The male and female flowers of this species are essentially the same but the female have much shorter and thick the column.
Look photos of my plant.... is female the flower ... slightly larger than the male flower
Ahh... the insect pollinator I have seen in my Cynoches, is a green bee, metallised, shiny, small and lonely .....the same as my Mormodes
Disculpen mi inglés ...es muy malo![]()
