Hi all! I have searched the forum for some time trying to find some info about my situation and have had no luck. I have a dendrobium that i bought around five or six months ago. Almost immediately after blooming, the plant started growing a new cane. All was well. I was excited. Well, this new cane apparently "stalled". It is much shorter than the older bloomed one. And another one is growing. It seems that the first won't grow anymore. In the center is a node, which i gather means that that last leaf was terminal? My question is this...Could this be caused by a great increase in light? Too much fertilizer? All of my plants are growing on a rack in a west window (east central alabama here). I also use lights. I have two 48" wide-spectrum 40 watts. It seems to be enough for my newer catts (lighter green, reddish spots) and my oncids are growing like weeds.
Thanks, Jason!

It could have been just the change in growing environments that caused the cane not to reach the size of previous ones.
I think Ron Has the answer Mine do things like that when I just move them from one location to another.
