I exaggerate of course, but that is what it feels like.
A trip like this exposes my ignorance of non-Philippine species, aside from the various issues of photography outside, with non controllable conditions.
The Singapore National Orchid Garden is five hectares of landscaped heaven inside the Singapore Botanical Gardens. One enters the botanic gardens free, but a five Singapore-dollar entrance fee is collected at the entrance of the orchid garden.
Inside the orchid gardens are thousands of plants in bloom, but I would have wanted more species. Oh well, I don't own it. Besides, most people probably go there for the colorful, large blooms of hybrids.
Most species are inside the coolhouse, which has double glass doors, with regular cool mistings, and a private waterfall, lol...It will do damage to your lenses, but after the long, sweaty walk to get there, you will begin to feel like a species orchid, which will wilt outside.
Still, its not a wonder that not a whole lot of visitors enter the coolhouse,
because less than 5% of the plants are in bloom, compared to the large colorful displays of hybrids outside.
