Mokara and Milt.'Volcano Queen

I have a Mokara, which is hanging high in my GH. It's at least 8 yrs. old and has never bloomed. Lots of aerial roots though. Here in the NW, the winter temps are often below 60 in my GH. It looks healthy. How do I get it to bloom, instead of growing roots?

I am also looking for, what I belief to be Miltonopsis, 'Volcano Queen'. I have seen pictures of it on this site some years ago. Hopefully, the owner will catch my post. Need to find out the vendor.

Helga the Milt you are lookng for I believe is Milt Soquel 'Volcano Queen' AM/AOS. If you google that name, I am sure you will find a vendor. As for the Mokara, sounds like you are giving the correct light. Maybe it needs to be fertilized more regularly. It is normal for Mokara to develop quite a few roots as it is vandaceous in nature. Even though it is a warm lover, I don't think the winter temps are the problem for I assume it is still healthy looking. You may want to move it to the west or south wall side of the greenhouse to up the light a bit more

I have a Mokara about similar age and it has flowered the last two years first with four spikes and this year with three, And I have found they need as much light you can give them without burning then they will flower.All my Vandas that are old enough flowered this year.starting in Dec and I have three still to go. I will post them when open.
