phal lobbii growing habits question

Does this species usually get rid of most of it leaves after flowering? Mine had 2 leaves and discarded one after flowering but produced a new one in no time. I've seen a few for sale at an orchid show and they didn't seem to have much in the form of leaves either. Is this a normal cycle for the phal lobbii or is there something wrong if it discards the majority of the leaves?

Richard, my understanding is that they are deciduous in nature. Having said that, my Lovely Kid (parishii x lobbii) has been leafless for over a year now. Still insists on blooming and the roots keep on growing. Wish it would send out some leaves though ........

mine does not shed it's leaves. I have a couple of Phal species that do but not lobbii
