Hi,
If a Phal loses the new leaf at the top of the plant, will it throw up another or does that kill the growing point?
I was repotting my largest, oldest Phal today, and since I've had some problems with mealybugs on it I decided to go over it with the sink sprayer to clean out all the leaf axils just as a preventative measure. But when I jiggled the new leaf tip - about a half-inch long at that point - to spray around it, the whole thing popped right out! Needless to say, I was not a happy camper. I finished the repotting and the plant is otherwise quite healthy, but I'm concerned it won't grow correctly now.
Any ideas about what to expect from it?
Thanks in advance!
Nina
