    Default My birthday orchid

    For my birthday this past Wednesday, my mom gave me a check to buy myself an orchid. So on Saturday, DH and I rode to Marriott orchids, and Hadley Cash helped me pick this. The tag reads White Legacy X Sylvan Vale.

    Beautiful orchid! (And happy b-day, Lisa!)

    You can see the similarities in coloration with Fairy Lace. I'm assuming that's the White Legacy effect. Does anyone have a shot of Slyvan Lace? I love studying the inheritance in the hybrids.

    Oh, Lisa, that is a beauty! It appears your birthday was a happy one indeed! My b-day is just around the bend. I have been thinking I want to get some really long lasting bloomer. I have been thinking I might want to get a Psychopsis. (Not sure yet.) Having a b-day so close to Christmas is a bummer sometimes, but maybe if I play my cards right I will get two or three of the orchids on my wish list!!

    Anyway, Happy belated birthday! Glad you are here and that you shared your beautiful White Legacy X Sylvan Vale with all of us.
