My Phal equestris alba is developing well even though I lost two buds to them blasting though I think that might have been my fault I spent a morning cooking, making soup and salsa and didnt shut the kitchen door and the humidity went right up where they are and I think they sulked and aborted. SO far the others are developing nicy and I do believe I have spotted a new spike forming I have circled it in the photo, I am sorry the ph0tos of the buds are so poor I cant seem to get a good photo of this guy.

Good luck! I would love to own an alba form of this great species. Be sure to post pics of it when they open![]()
Carrie, nobody is happier for you, and your equestris than I am. I know how you've nursed and babied it along, and now you get to reap the rewards.

Thank you everyone yes this wasnt a very happy guy when I got it but it seems to be doing well, wouldnt it be wonderful Bruce if I got keikis from it I would love that. I especially love white flowers so thought the alba for was for me though some time I would like to get the original form if I can get this one to do well.
there are many forms and colors of equestris. I had a peloric one at one time.
Do you have two plants in the same pot or is that just a basal keiki that is grown up already? It does look like a new spike. Looking forward to the pictures of the bloom on this one.![]()
It appears to be a basal Keiki, the plant was in a bad way when I got it with the keiki already nearly fully grown I repotted and the plant didnt fall into two so It has to be a keiki I am not complaining i got two plants for the price of one and now two spikes!
How cute...can't wait to see the blooms!
