I decided to clean up and rearrange the greenhouse shelves to give me more bench space and a wider walkway in the middle.
Since I am using the generic storage shelves, the process only took me an hour.
This was my old setup. As you can see, the vertical shelf setup provided bright light to the top shelves, but diminished as you go down to the lower shelves.
The vertical spacing between shelves also limited the size of plants I can put in the lower shelves.
Old Setup
Here's the new setup:
Now I can see pretty much everything from any part of the walkway. No more hide-n-seek with the plants.
I gained about an extra foot in width on the walkway after rearranging the shelves.
This side remains unchanged.
This is where I made the biggest change. The new "grocery store" shelf configuration gives me more bench space and puts the plants closer to the ground, and further away from the hot greenhouse roof.
Also, since there are no shelves on top of the plants (except for the phals), they now all receive equal amounts of sunlight and have more vertical room to grow.
