Phrag sedenii SPIKE!

This poor phrag clearly wasn't listening when the orchid spirits at my house screamed 'this girl can't grow phrags'!!!

This spike snuck up on me- just found it today! I've killed several phrags, have three left that just sort of seemed to limp along. I recently changed fertilizers and added a fan to this growing area. *shrug*

It's in a south-east window in large bark mix with wet feet. I'll certainly post a picture of the bloom! (that's a phal equestris bud in the foreground).

(my photography skills have clearly not improved during my absence from here! LOL)

Congrats! Mine is in spike as well.
It's a primary hybrid between Phrag. longifolium and Phrag. schlimii, so needs to be capitalized (Phrag Sedenii)

Ah- thanks Ron...I was in genus species mode with caps and didn't even think to look that up!

older crosses like that had names that sounded like a species...RHS does not allow that any longer
