Hello all ! Here are the pictures of my Aerides maculosum in bloom.
Gorgeous! I love the flowers they are so pretty!
Stunning! Wish I had the conditions for these.
So pretty!
Oh, those are fabulous! very delicate. So what growing conditions does it require?
Amey, this is stunning!!! I love it!!! Is it hot growing? I think I need one!
Thanks everyone for the comments. Aerides maculosum is a native Indian orchid from the western ghats. It is a warm to hot growing plant. I am watering it the year round with no winter rest and they are growing nicely (naturally we have a rainy season of 4 months called the monsoon followed by 4 months of mild winter 10-20 oC and then 4 very hot months 30-40 oC. They are planted in baskets or pots with a lot of drainage holes. I have some that are mounted and they also look good. I use coconut husk and charcoal as the media and fertilize with cowdung.
Regards Amey
My gosh, that is stunning! WOW!
