Default Den. Palolo Sunshine x Den. gouldii

I bought this late 2007 and this is the first time the plant has bloomed.
I found the arching habit of the canes a little wierd, but once I saw how the spike corresponds with the same arch, it sort of all fits in.

I could not get the proper light so the colors are a bit off. The petals are actually closer to bronze than yellow.

There should have been a second spike on the other cane. But somehow the terminal leaf on that cane did not open up and formed a cone that trapped the spike. I'm not sure if that was just a fluke or if this plant has trouble developing proper terminal leaves.
