I bought my Odontioda Aissa McLaughlin in bloom last Easter and absolutely fell in love with the flowers. It's been very happy in my well-lit room and I wanted to be extra loving, so I set right on the sunny southern windowsill.
The sunburn wasn't immediate, but when it did appear it came on quickly (boy, just like us!) I now apply SPF 45 to the leaves daily.
Maybe a week after I relocated it to a recovery spot with indirect light, I read: "Odontioda love light, but avoid strong direct light." Guess I learned that the hard way...

PS - Please don't anyone take the bit about the SPF seriously...
