Phaphiopedilum Oriental Limelight & Others

I'm welcoming a few new additions to the family. I ordered Tetraspis C#1 and Encyclia Bractescens the other day and received them on Friday. I had to go to an Art Show so I couldn't post pics right away. Tetraspis is in bud. The Encyclia has a few offshoots growing on the side. I'm assuming these are new plants?

Anyway, today I had to pick my mom up from the airport. I was a little early so I decided to visit a garden center on Lyndale Ave in Minneapolis. Long story short, I came home with a new Phaphiopedilum. I hope I can keep it alive. I've never, ever had a Paph before. This is what is on his tag: Paphiopedilum Oriental Limelight (Oriental Enchantment 'Greenleeves' x Limelight 'Gravenstein'). Yes, greenleeves is mispelled.

Here are a few pics. Can anyone tell me what that little growth is on my new Paph? I don't know much about this genus, but I'm eager to learn!

Whoa, that Paph is awesome! I love the alba colour forms of these maudiae-type Paphs.

The little shoot on that Paphs is the new growth. That is how Paphs increase vegetatively. Each of these growths can flower once when it is fully grown and then it will start the cycle again... I've found that these types of Paphs can flower every 9 months which considering the flowers stays fresh as long as 3 months sometimes means that you are only ever waiting for a new flower for a short period of time..

man, i am truly loving that Paph.. me thinks I need to go and splurge and get me one hehehe...

Yeah, I''ve been reading up on Paphs. Mom was a little surprised when she hopped in the car. At first she was like...."what's that?" LOL. After getting a closer look, she loved it. She though it was a carnivorous plant and I can see how she would think that.

One thing I noticed about my Paph is that it's fuzzy. The flower, stem and roots are covered with little hairs. It's like a MAN-LY Phalaenopsis LOL.

I am trying to increase my paph collection and Paph Oriental Limelight seems like a good candidate to add to the collection ,seeing that the mottled leaves might suggest it is warm temperature-tolerant. Not familiar with the parentage - any advice as to its temperature tolerance?
