Wow! I have been wanting to try a Lycaste... this looks like a great one! Lovely...
I love so much this species very beautiful and big flower can grow here but refuse to flower, sad too hot. Zain
Very nice flower! But are you sure it's macrophylla? It's a spitting image of a skinneri. Lyc. macrophylla usually have a red/brown color to the sepals...this particular flower has the shape and color of a skinneri.
Have always been intrigued by Lycaste and just like Zainal thought that our growing area is too hot for Lycaste. So looked up orchidspecies.com to find the warmer varieties and saw that macrophylla does not look like the one shown.
That is Lycaste guatemalensis IMO. Very nice!

I it's skinneri v. ipala. Had macrophylla on the mind, I guess.
