    Default Blooming Tolumnias or equitant oncidiums

    It has been some time since pictures of tolumnias have been posted. These cute colourful miniatures have always been one of my favourite orchids and I have been guilty of having killed scores of them through giving them the wrong cultural requirements.

    Since being shown the correct technique I have been rewarded with some healthy plants that bloom regularly.

    Here are some that greeted me when I came home from holidays in Hong Kong.

    Love the yellow and brown one - especially the few with the red edging! So pretty.

    I would find it difficult to pick just one favorite. I like all of them.

    My tolu plants are in bud now. It is taking them forever to open........ unless I'm just being impatient. My red onc Twinkle is also taking forever to open. It has grown quite a lot since last year so I'm anxious to see what it will do this time, hurry, hurry, hurry.

    I love the multitude of blooms... I have an Oncidium ornithorhynchum that is in bloom now and it has two spikes of over two dozen blooms. I hope to find some with more color. These give me an idea of what to look for.
