Miniatures... I love this plant but their treatment is like Grammatophyllum, prefers dry humid environment..
Hi Ron,
I'm admiring your Acriopsis liliifolia. I'm thinking of buying one but are they very difficult to keep? I know they need a lot of heat but how much heat? I can provide plenty of humidity but I'm wondering about how much heat they need (or anything else you can tell me about it!)...Many thanks!
Margaret
Hi Margaret,
they are fairly easy growers, if your temperature is over 25 Celsius you should do fine with it. I wouldn't pot it though, since it creates a great root mass and likes to dry out. So mounting, or placed in a basket should do, and give it Vanda like growing conditions.
Hope that helps,
Ron
I always seem to pick ones that are almost impossible for an average grower to succeed at. This is indeed good news! Now all I have to do is convert Celsius to Fahrenheit, LOL.
Time out... Hey, I just checked the conversion of Celsius to Fahrenheit. 77 degrees is a bit warm in my house :-). (and a little warmer than some of my orchids like it). Would it do okay with 23-24 degrees Celsius? (I bookmarked the link that converts Celsius to Fahrenheit :-)
Thanks AGAIN!
Margaret
