Hey everyone, here's a very nice miniature I wanted to share with ya. This guy has some very very small blooms; to give ya'll an idea of the size of the blooms, the longest spike shown in the close up pic is under two inches long. I look forward to the next couple of years, where I've read that the spikes will get over eight inches long and just full of flowers.

Great species! It will get better every year, more spikes and much longer spike too.

Hey Tom, although I'm assuming that you have one of these guys, how do you treat it condition-wise? There isn't a ton of info on growing this guy, even in the Angraecoid book, so I was hoping you had some tips on temp, watering, light and any resting periods. I'd definitely like to encourage more and longer spikes next year. :-)

Derek, I do have one and it should be in bloom soon. I like this genus but they are kinda look alike, so one species is enough for me.
I am hersitated to grow this one outside for the warmer months, so it just stay inside year round--Cool side of internediate(55-75F) for most of the time. Light is very low 600~700FC, good humidity(60%minimum) year round and good air movement. My plant is on cork mount with some moss and I water it every other day year round, basically no winter rest or a very short one...

@Tom-- I'm glad you had some experience to share. I might be growing it a little bright and a little warm then. I have mine on the high side of your recommendation, probably 65-80 degrees (Night-Direct Light Midday) in its current spot. I noticed a little leaf wrinkling watering only once every two days, so I've been watering it much more lately. It makes sense though as I have low humidity inside, the 60% minimum you recommend means I might need to water maybe twice a dayish..... Thanks for your help Tom....

Derek, I just checked my plant. I actually don't have this species. Mine is M. hildebrandtii. I am pretty sure the culture will be very similar.

Tom, that is still good advice that I've already begun to use.

When I was reading about them I found there is some confusion with Microterangis hildebrandtii and hariotiana. I guess there are questions about how much they are different, or even whether they are different at all. They supposedly have the same care requirements, which makes sense as they come from the small Comoros Islands.

I have read their differences somewhere on one of the forums but I don't remember now. These two species are almost identical in my eye.
