Ugly yellow leaves on my phal?

Is there such thing as obsessing over your orchids too much? I sure do hope that I haven't hurt this little cutie. This is AFTER re-potting and putting on its new humidity tray. Whats the story with those ugly yellow leaves on the bottom?? There IS a new leaf popping up on top, is this just normal healthy growth? Please excuse my lack of knowledge =) I'm trying!

Lower leaves on phals die off, but usually only one at a time. The ones on your plant could be caused from stress (root loss), but the plant seems to be healthy.

Its progressively getting worse. My instincts are telling me to pull away from the window. It doesn't get direct sunlight, but its a big & bright eastern window. *sigh*

Are the rest of the leaves wrinkled? I can see that they are a bit.If so it probablly needs water(either roots cannot absorb or its dry) It could be that the roots are in bad condition (rotting) or maybe the after re-poting in new bark (did you soak it before using?) it could be completely dry. When was the last time you watered? I would first check if the potting mix is dry, so just water and if not I would check on the root status so maybe dig in between the bark and check it out.

I wondered about the wrinkled leaves. I did soak the bark prior to re-potting, but I packed the bark fairly loosely. I was just under the impression to hold off on watering for a week or two after repotting. It DID seem very dry after 1 week. Thanks!...I hope it bounces back

Don't worry. It will surely make it...Better dry than over-watered with rotten roots Give it a week or so and the wrinkles will disappear

Instead of watering too often , regular misting maybe the better option until new roots get growing .Just don't let water sit in the crown !!
There doesn't appear to be many roots ,you would expect lots of roots even to the point where the pot in full of them .

This mini is on the downward slope. I awoke to discovering it's more yellow (bright yellow,) wrinkled, and discolored. I would definetely say its under some stress. What the heck did I do? I sprinkled cinammon where I cut off rotten roots. I'm reading that this might have been a mistake. This was my first time ever repotting, I just hope I didn't kill it!

Cinnamon shouldn't be used on roots because it acts as a drying agent. It is better to use a fungicide or hydrogen peroxide, but it is ulikely that using cinnamon on roots alone will kill a plant. It sounds like the plant was already under stress if there were rotting roots.

It should also be known that plants, including orchids, tend to have a balance between the amount of foliage and the amount of roots. If they lose roots, then they will also tend to lose foliage. This may be what is happening if conditions are otherwise okay. Only time will tell.
