Another haul from this lady that I helped re-pot some of her orchid collection. I didn't realize that the plant is spiking and accidentally pulled on of the spikes that I thought was dried sheathing.
Thanks for looking

Usually, the little spikes at the base of the plant are new plantlets...or keikeis; and if you do hurt them or if they get munched on by critters...new one's will grow. It may take a month to see the new sprout sticking up, but there will be one soon. You would be suprised how easy they break during repotting. My husband knows when I do it cuz there is a stream of very unladylike language that comes from the orchid area. lol
Cool. I hope you didn't hurt the spike and you get lots of blooms.
Cheers,

Well done and congrats for the reward of your labour. Here's wishing you lots of blooms from the cym.
