Another haul from this lady that I helped re-pot some of her orchid collection. I didn't realize that the plant is spiking and accidentally pulled on of the spikes that I thought was dried sheathing.

Usually, the little spikes at the base of the plant are new plantlets...or keikeis; and if you do hurt them or if they get munched on by critters...new one's will grow. It may take a month to see the new sprout sticking up, but there will be one soon. You would be suprised how easy they break during repotting. My husband knows when I do it cuz there is a stream of very unladylike language that comes from the orchid area. lol
