hmmm.. I love Paphs....![]()
Very nice.
Very red.
Very callosum.
Good growing.
Matt, is that your first blooming of it? I was wondering if the outward folding on the dorsal carried over from bloom to bloom, or if that was just a one-time deal on this particular growth.
I didn't realise this was one of those hybrids with a parentage that goes on and on... however, it seems there's pretty much only 3 species involved, ie callosum, lawrenceanum, mastersianum... the first two sometimes have cultivars that have those reflexed dorsals... guess if it's constant it's in the genes...
don't know why i posted the above (must be the coffee), but anyways...
cheers
T
Beautiful bloom ,and picture , if my pictures were half as good I would be happy . Thanks for sharing it . Gin
I think it's interesting how the width of callosum's white halo expressed itself a lot more on the Ruby Sands cross where it was further back as a parent than it does here. Just goes to show you can never be sure what's going to happen with a cross until the progeny actually bloom!
yea first bloom so i am not too sure.
