hello everyone,

need some help regarding my newly acquired paphs;





the medium is a fern chips and on a 3 inch pot, have not touch it yet due to stress during transportation, are the plant go well also with these kind of medium?

does this need to be re-potted to a bigger pot, what size is the most considerable because i have an extra 12 inches pot? and can i hang just like epiphyte plants?

hi boy, congrats!
everything looks ok there, they dont like to be over potted, so this size should be good for 2-3 years. place em under bright shade, no direct sun light, on the ground or a bit elevated. the medium can dry out slightly.

you've got a nice one Boy... Dont repot the media is good and the this one likes being root
bound.... I learned this the hard way. Dont mount them, they are not epiphytes, paphs
are terrestrial. Give them Cattleya lights. Good luck

will definitely do so, as this is my first to have this kind.

have just seen it yesterday at msbf and got hook first to the foliage, later on i found a picture of the bloom and found it very beautiful

Yes, paphs are a league of their own.... the foliage is nice not to mention the flowers.

what is the watering needs of this paphs considering the fern chips as the medium?

You can water it once daily since the medium is quite open.... assuming your growing it
outdoors and since its the rainy season i wouldn't bother watering it and let nature do its
magic.

i placed it on my front porch, with green polycarbonate roofing (been there when i moved in) so direct sun wouldn't be a problem

Avoid misting leaves among this plants, it triggers fungal infection if plant is not treated with fungicide. This plant also needs well drained media (you may used or combined the following for your plant media according to your own preference: rice hulls, coconut chips (Bunot), Coco coir or lumber saw dust (preferred coconut lumber than Gmelina arborea lumber dust which toxic and acidic to plants), charcoal, washed river sand and gravel, and / or used styrofoam into small pieces) and bright light (no direct sunlight).

right now i don't want them to be disturbed on their present pot so as not to stress the plant. will change the medium when i repot
