I can't believe that it's been a year and 2000 posts since I joined OT. I've made so many friends, learnt so many things and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it.
While waiting for my strap-leaved vandas to bloom so that I can photograph them and post the pictures, Tami's sunset pictures prompted me to look into my old files and find some of my sunset pictures too. I used to be a keen photographer and joined a group that used to 'chase' sunsets and sunrises. I said 'chase' because here at the equator. the best sunset/sunrise lasts less than 10 minutes.Sunset/sunrise pictures always look better when there's a body of water around, and even better still if there's some activity going on at the same time.
The first set of pictures is of sunsets in a fishing harbour 20 miles from where I live (on the West coast of Peninsular Malaysia).
The second set is of sunrise near a fishing village on the East Coast of the Peninsula 400 miles from my place. We made a trip here specifically to photograph the sunrise and the fishing communities here.
All the pictures have been scanned from slides on Ektachrome and Fujichrome. They were taken before the days of the digital camera on my old trusty Nijon F3HP.
