When blooms finish should I cut back stem.
Its all up to you, i usually just leave the spike till it dries and turn brown and then i just break it off. but if you decide to cut it off, cut it off as short as you can and make your to treat the wound with a fungicide or just put a little bit of cinnamon on the cut.
I used to cut mine...now I let them dry like Byron; above.
I used to cut mine as well while the spike is green... but then I read that there may be
a chance that the plant may get infected with something... so now I just wait till the spike
is all dried up and then cut it when Im not too lazy....
But don't cut back the cane - the tall thing with leaves, which the spike comes from ; at least not until its withered .
Thankyou all for your helpful advice.
