Capanemia superflua
I like!
a wonderful species with fantastic fragrance!
Is it blooming now? Mine always blooms in spring
Yes Tom, it is blooming now, and it is blooming Capanemia uliginosa too, but something went wrong with this one, has three stems, and on each has one or perhaps two flowers only.
That is interesting to know. Are they newly imported from South America, perhaps Argentina?
I'm not quite sure, but I think superflua had been bought in Germany and the uliginosa had been imported from Colombia.
I wish I could smell the fragrance of this orchid bloom. It looks lovely.
cheers,

absolutely gorgeous!
Branka, I just looked up some info at IOSPE, it says uliginosa blooms in the spring and superflua blooms in the fall. Mine was labeled as uliginosa but now this species has been treated as a synonmy of superflua according to Kew.
Well, it was often happening to me before, that I buy 2 orchids - one species with two different name: I've been bought Haraella retrocalla and Haraella odorata. I even found that conditions for growth were quite different...it was the same with this Capanemia: I found later on that I don't have two different species, but one only, one with accepted name and one with synonym. So I put them together on the cork. Capanemia, labeled as uliginosa, hasn't got the same flower as Capanemia superflua, i just think so... What do I have? (on the right side is Capanemia labeled as uliginosa).
