Paphiopedillum gigantifolium

When I visit my friend last week I saw this species in bloom, nice looking species that the upper sepals is green in color, just to share with you the beauty of this genera.Sorry the photos is not that great.

Very nice Zain, it seems the plant is raised high judging from the angle of the shots.
If this can grow in the lowlands I'd love to have one of these. By the way how big is
the plant? to me the name suggests it to have huge leaves....

Randy, I saw one. Leaves are more then 60 cm long and 15 cm wide. Even gigantifolium.
The whole pant is huge, but the flowers very nice.

I saw it on a market on Borneo. It grows in the lowlands.

Hi Mietek, thanks for the explanation I agree with you one thing the leaves is very thin as compare to koloparkingii.
Peter the plants that you show us is koloparkingii native to Borneo, gigantifolium come from Sulawesi.

I have a gigantifolium x sanderianum. Too young to flower yet, so waiting patiently. Any ideas as to what I should do special built on the influence of the gigantifolium parent?
