Passiflora Ligularis-Deciduous?

i have a Passiflora ligularis or Sweet Granadilla in my garden and in about.....april/may it lost all its leaves, partially due to snails, and also by itself. i cant be bothered searching through endless pages on google so i thought i would call upon the infinite wisdom this forum possesses.
Is this particular passionfruit deciduous or not?

Hi Jordan, Passion fruits is from tropical country, therefore they are not deciduous plants usually the leaves remains intact until nature do something or as you said the snails and others bugs going to remove from the plant. I have this plants for almost about 5 years so far I never seen the leaves drop even during the hot season. No doubt the flowers is very pretty and the fruits is so delicious with sweet sour taste, very fresh and yummy. Just have a look the photos below.Zain.

In my area, Pennsylvania, Zone 6 , the Passion Flower is a tender perennial--meaning that with mild winters and lots of protection it can winter over or be grown indoors. I grow mine in my garden and do not bring it inside. The one I grow is deciduous. After a mild winter it sprouts out from the old growth, after a severe winter is sends up new growth from it's roots. I grow it only for the flowers and though they are quite complex and beautiful it is not a plant that I baby - if I loose it, I loose it. From the research I did on it when I first purchased it apparently in warmer climes it can become very invasive. I have friends who grow it as a house/greenhouse plant and they have very little leaf drop. I assume when grown in a more tropical climate it is most likely evergreen. In my garden the leafs turn a brilliant yellow/orange in the autumn before dropping. Hope this helps you.

I know that passionfruit are tropical (mostly as we have our own native(tetragonia)-inedible)
and your advice does help somewhat for my other passionfruits, thanks zain . however, the passionfruit in your pictures doesnt look as if it is the sweet granadilla. Perhaps the granadilla is from more alpine or highland areas where they get mild winters like here? it only seemed as the autumn set in they started to drop as the snails only ever ate the leaves, not the veins or stalks in the leaves.
