As promised.
The first pic shows the spike in February this year ; the second shows the whole plant, now, and from this can be seen the remains of very regular and frequent flower spikes, including a new one emerging on the opposite side of the now open flowers. It also shows that the plant is not actually deliriously happy even if it is producing two spikes at almost the same time - these flowers in early December and the next lot e by next month ; I noticed this unhappiness and repotted in late summer, using a plastic basket and coarse pine bark and the plant has not yet made up its mind to like it. Maybe I'll shake that bark out and replace with something a bit damper - say medium bark and moss. At the moment it is being sprayed fairly often, say every couple of days, but it still looks very dry , although this is mid-winter, close to the shortest day in UK when all my plants must be on the dryish side for their own health.
After seeing all the other Kagawaras on the forum, I want more ; such super colours - and if they are all like my Kultana Red, so easy and prolific with flowers.
Another posting soon - when I went to the greenhouse to fetch this plant , I was met with a wall of perfume from a Gongora - which I will go out to photograph.
