I just found the name for this one
Bulbophyllum lockii Aver. & Averyanova
congrats chu!
so dainty and pretty, very nice chu, and glad you found the name!
Nice Bulbo Chu.
Could be from Viet-nam I guess. Averyanov spent time there every year for very many years ( more than 25 ) practically, if not actually, wrote the text-books of the flora of that country, as well (of course - if you don't know it ?) his great book about the Paph species of that country , and establishing their orchid herbarium. And of course he published a great many Vietnam orchids along the way.
He ( Averyanov ) came to Uk a few years ago to give a couple of lectures to the British Paph Society ; I was on the committe then ( Treasurer) and was deputed to look after him - which in the end involved taking him on a tour of veryuwhjere I could think of, like PC World to buy a new lap-top unobtainable in USSR , or maybe it was Russia by that time, and as it turned out, at a price half that he would have paid there for an inferior clunky model - he promised to send me an autographed copy of the paph book as a thank-you, but joked (?)- when I asked him about that promise at an international orchid show a couple of years later, that it must have been confiscated by the KGB or our (British) MI5...
Yes, this species I collected from our forest.
Averyanov also in Vietnam this time. I also arrange most of the logistic things for him to go to the field in some provinces in Vietnam now. After this field trip some new orchid species could be announce.
When you next see him, give him regards from me and everyone else in British Paph Society.
In the next 2 days he will visit my garden and I will tell him.
