    Default Bulbophyllum elongatum

    Bulbophyllum elongatum

    First time seeing this in bloom. Another highland species growing at 5000 ft ASL. Can be found in Penninsular Malaysia, Java, Borneo, New Guinea and the Philippines in very damp forests. Flowers are compact and has a fruity smell attracted lots of fruitflies ( Possible pollinator for this species). For your eyes only ! Enjoy. Merry Christmas and happy new year 2011 !

    Very striking bulbo. Have never seen this before - most probably because it's a highland variety and rare in cultivation. Thanks for posting.
