I don't know about colors because I'm color deficient. No fragrance and I'm not aware of any miniatures. Yes, the spikes are very long and skinny. The Mendenhall hybrid has very large flowers about 5" across and 8" from top to bottom.

Well, I think they are incredible. I have only seen them in these colors. Do they come in other colors? Is there a fragrance with any of this type? The one I remember had a huge long spike, but the flower was much smaller. (Maybe 3-4 inches across) I am thinking it must have been a miniature?Brutal, they are sometimes commonly known as Butterfly orchids because the blooms resemble butterflies.
Cheers!

I've seen pictures of a papilio "alba" or something...not white by any stretch, but more like a light yellow background with light brown markings instead of orange. Smaller flowers than the original, if I recall.
Holy smoker, I thought it was going to come through the screen! I've only seen those in magazine photos, they *never* looked that gigantic! Great growing.
