Here is a plant I can't resist posting. I got interested in cyps a few months ago and found there is a LOT of information out there on culture, potting media, fertilizer, etc.! Many new hybrids are coming out and they can be grown with just a little effort.
I bought three cyp seedlings and planted them on April 17. At that time, they were not visible above the soil/mulch line. They looked like a mass of roots and a small green bud. Three weeks and four days later, the first has bloomed. They have a FAST growth rate!
Give 'em a try! This native species came highly recommended for a beginner like me. I'm thinking about try one or two others in the fall!
