pointers on care and maintenance of Den. Farmeri and cycnodes chlorochion x jumbo puf

Hi there,
I went to the Ottawa orchid show this weekend and came back with a Den. Farmeri and a Cycnodes (Chlorochion x Jumbo puff). I just want to know if i should repot immediately and any other pointers on these orchids. I do know that the Den goes through a dormant period in which I should practically ignore it.
The last plants I bought suffered severe root rot and i was unable to revive them...

I would just like to know what the seasoned growers think of the health of these plants. I want to repot etc but do not want to put them in the wrong media or whatnot.

I joined here last August for a root rot issue. The plant didn't survive but I did get great advice so I can catch the problem quicker next time.
I just purchased a Cycnodes(chlorochion x jumbo puff) and Den. Farmeri at the Ottawa orchid show. I would just like some pointers on these plants. I do know the Farmeri needs to pretty much be ignored while it's dormant. It seems however that the vendor did not give me the right information on the Cycnodes since he told me the care was comparable to that of a Phal which apparently it's not...
I believe the Den is ready to be repotted (I don't know if I should seperate it) and I'd also like to know if it would be better for me to reply the Cycnodes as well, if only to know exactly what medium it's in.

I grow all my plants of this group in well-washed perlite, topped with some ordinary horticultural grit ( quartzite for example). This is well-dranied, and perfect to keep the plants through the winter when they need to dry off - after the leaves have yellowed and fallen. They are deciduous, annually. When the new growth appears, and is half an inch high I give just a teaspoon of water around the growth to encourage roots. As it develops and by the time its an inch high it will start to need more. I then grow in S/H - i.e. stand the pot in an inch of water/fertiliser - usual orchid mix - -= very weak ( 1/4 the strength it says on the packet ). Change the water etc weekly and watch the growth develop and the bulb form. When the leaves start to yellow, dry off - but as the flower spikes develop it will still need some water, but standing in the water is a bit too much - just dunk maybe weekly when dry. Jumbo Puff develops flowers as the leaves start to yellow, and usually the leaves have gone by the time the flowers are ready to open. Chlorochilon flowers while the leaves are still green - so its anyone;s guess which way this will go.
But they are very rewarding orchids, a bit different rom most, and well worth while.
My Jumbo Puff had three spikes = 33 flowers on one bulb last year !.
