very nice species. Flowering every year, this time the spike is carrying 14 flowers and second one is on the way. In additional excellent odour. Unfortunately quite big and the roots are already almost 2m long.

Wally, yes I know. I've a another Vanda merrilli, which is much smaller, but until now I've been seeing flowers. Maybe it's merrilli. I hope.

Let's hope you do have the 'real' Vanda merrillii, since it is apparently a less common plant than fma. rotorii.

Btw, I like the deep maroon-red and white coloring of your flowers- they really look neat and clean. In many rotorii I have seen the bases of the sepals and petals have faint yellowish streaks.
