    Default Help identifying this orchid from the Botanical Garden !!!

    Hello everybody !!! This is one of these cases in which I've tried looking for it everywhere and can't find an ID. This orchids is growing naturally at the Botanical Gardens in one of their plots. These pics are from last year as this year they aren't in bloom yet. Any help will be appreciated !!! Thank you

    P.S. Didn't know what forum to post in so I chose this one.

    Nice blooms! I believe it is Oeceoclades maculata.

    I believe that the ID is correct. Thank you soo very much. I'll be looking to get one or 2 of this .

    Oeceoclades maculata is considered an invasive weed in south Florida, harmful to natural habitats and a nuisance in cultivated fields and landscapes. I would encourage you not to contribute to further distribution of this species, especially if it is not already common in your area. Just one or 2 plants can mean millions of seedlings in a short time spreading far beyond your control.

    I wonder if the garden will let me get some if I tell them that they are in the invasive list ??? I wouldn't let seed pods form and I really haven't seen it anywhere else down here.
