One of my phalaenopsis orchids had its new, succulent flower stem completely eaten through by a slug which got in through an open window. The stem was about 6-7 inches high and removed it from the plant at the second node from its base as the growing section had been destroyed by the slug.
I am wondering how I can best encourage the plant to produce another flower stem. I have not yet seen this particular plant flower and the loss of its first flower stem has been most disappointing.
Thank you for any suggestions and my greetings and warmest regards to you all.
