The other "alba" Gongoras I have flowered have been green, brown, yellow, - you name it. When I complained, I was told rather sniffily that in the orchids, alba means no red in the flower. Clearly these guys didn't learn latin the way I did .
However, I have to accept that orchid traders have been conning growers for a hundred years in this way, so there is a good precedent.
But here is the real m'coy.
My plant likes my conditions and now has 8 new growths ; interestingly five were at the back and three at the front, and all the flowers at the front When I took it down to photograph today. . But maybe I don't always put it back the same way after taking down for a dunking. I'm not even sure whether the flowers developed to the side... so I have no idea hiw to get more, all round the plamt. pay attention Dorsetman - you are missing a trick here !
One of thes pics is taken from above the spike -and looking at the image I am reminded of a fl;ight of bats or maybe swallows ?
