vanda receiving too much light?

About a month or so ago I moved this mini vanda (Mokara Salaya Gold, i think) outside. It has the purple spotting that comes with getting good light. And it's putting out roots like never before (not as noticible in these pics). But I think the lower leaves are dying off. They weren't so good looking before but I think the yellowing, wrinkling and falling off has increased since taking it outside. I'm not sure if this is normal for Vanda's or if it could be getting too much sun. I water once a day.

Vanda like to be very warm...watered with warm water (they like a mist even better)...and while normal to drop a lower leaf i'm not sure your's looks very healthy. I have seen vanda in large bark with a basket...but not the spagnum. You might want to consider removing it as some of your lower roots look bad. Also; if it has spagnum you should wait to water after the moss is dry. Vandas are also able to handle being fertilized a couple times a week. I use honey in addition to regular orchid fertilizer when they are spiking or sick.

i would agree with Connie, remove that moss and it should be fine. Vandas often drop their lower leaves, especially when new roots come out, so no worries.

I'll take the moss off. It's just laying on the top. I was worrying it was drying to quick. It's dry before the end of the day. Or seems so to me. It's def getting warm weather. More like hot. Sadly the roots looked like that before I brought it outside which is why I'm happy to see a lot of new growth. The old roots are putting out new ones of their own. Something it had not done before.
