Even if you're not religious, you might enjoy reading sacred texts from a literary or cultural stance. When available, I encourage you to take a course in comparative religions - these courses aren't "preachy" and aren't meant to convert the students to one religion or another, but really offer insights into humanity, cultures, politics, etc. Great stuff that can help make you a more rounded person, again, even if just to understand better what is important to some other people. Mythology - whether Greek, Roman, or from other cultures around the world - is great, too, and tends to address universal principles in very interesting ways.
