Sounds like you've gotten some good advice. Bonsai can be a very interesting hobby. I've been learning about the different techniques for about 40 yrs. now. I suggest you pick up some books on the subject. That should give you some invaluable info. Plus, I've learned over the yrs. and having had MANY failures before successes, that most bonsai thrive on neglect, as long as you don't forget to water them! Good luck with your new little tree.
