    Default Lilium martagon album

This is the first species lily (or any lily) I grew from seed. It took about four years to flower which is actually very good since the books all say about seven years to flowering from seed. I now have a nice flock of these.

Flowers are only about 2 inches across.

    Pretty cool, Kev.

Do those self-pollinate pretty easily? Looks like they would, but maybe it's one of those things where the pollen develops later, or something?

    Four for me.

    Seven for you regular folk.

Wait until this fall. I'll give you a couple bulbs. I have lots.

    Seed?

    Seed????

Seed is something you *could* send across the border! Not that I'm trying to hint or anything! LOL Wait, 4-7 years? Hmm, never mind.

    Cheers,

    Rob

You guys want seed, let me know. Here's how you grow it.

    Plant seed in pot.
    Cover pot with plastic wrap.
Keep at room temp (70-75 F) for about 3 months.
Then put in the fridge for about 3 months.
Return to room temp and they should germinate.
    Then you wait.

It really is a good way to get a bunch of these. Most places charge in the $10 range per bulb.

Just let me know. Happy to do it.
