Epc. Siam Jade question

I have some Siam Jade plugs and was wondering how long before they are mature and bloom?

Epc. (now Ctyh. - Cattleychea) Siam Jade doesn't have to be a huge plant to flower, but from plug size you will probably need at least 2 years of vigorous growth to first bloom, and another year or 2 before they can be considered mature plants that will bloom abundantly. Plugs vary in size though, and growing conditions make a big difference, so it could be a bit sooner or quite a bit longer.

Very nice plugs. I would give them light and plenty of Nitrogen to grow on. I grow all my seedlings under Metal Halide light and do not move them to High Pressure Sodium until I am satisfied they have reached mature heiight. I also do not give them much of a rest period for the first 2 years - get them growing and mature.

Those are some big healthy plugs. If you're good you might be able to shave some time off my earlier predictions. Don is right - beyond just good care, optimal light and fertilizer quality and quantity are the biggest boost you can give young plants.

Those orchids look very healthy. Good light is the key to getting them to the blooming stage.

I'm happy to hear the compliments on them. I've never purchased any before these. For the most part I'm using MSU type fertilizer. I've been looking into a light system for when I bring them all in. I think I have it picked out finally.

I have similar or smaller plugs and am growing them mounted in tropical conditions. I hope for blooms in 2 years.
