Talking Dendrobium Red Dragon and Airy Peach

As a confirmed killer of Phalaenopsis, I have to turn to the Phalaenopsis-type hard-cane Dendrobium as a substitute for my craving for the full form moth orchid.Hard-cane dendrobiums are very to easy to grow and care for in our hot, wet climate. The flowers are long lasting and come in all colurs from white to dark purple.

Here are 2 of my favourites. The light peach-coloured one is Den Airy Peach and the dark one is Den Red Dragon, a large-flowered dendrobe (3 1/2 ins). I prefer this with the white pattern on the lip and the brushed-on white streaks on the petal to the more common concolor purple.

Gorgeous dens! I like these myself. They are so easy here to grow and bloom.

Beautiful blooms Yew. I have both of these Dens. I agree with you that your Den. Red Dragon with the splash of white on the lip and the faint stripes on the petals is prettier than the concolor which is the one I have. Keep adding to your Dendrobe. collection they really are quite easy to grow and you will always have something in bloom. The largest part of my collection is made up of Dendrobium.
Thanks for sharing the beautiful Pics.

Yew I find everything said here by you, Connie, and Angela to be true. They (knock on wood) seem to do well in my green house also. What you posted here are wonderful examples of some of the best blooms Dendrobium's have to offer. My compliments. AL
