Several orchid species I have acquired from a single location in Mindanao.
And the other rare Bulbophyllum species I have...
That second one looks a bit like the Dagger Orchid (sorry, cant remember its name...), and is so called because of the sharp points at the tips if the leaves. Your Dendrochilum looks like D. cootesii. A very nice compilation![]()
Those spikes in the 3rd photo from the top remind me of Medinilla magnifica.
Nice haul, Derek.
Thanks guys.
Much more awaited with these unknown beauties to reveal their identity in the wild south of the Philippines.
From the background, its a Medinilla speciosa from Borneo.
I don't have any Medinilla magnifica at this time.
My Medinilla magnifica has gone into the wind few months ago due to bacterial rot.
At home I have this list of Philippine Medinilla species:
1. Medinilla mindorensis
2. Medinilla bolsterii
3. Medinilla multiflora (syn. Medinilla myriantha)
4. Medinilla pendula
5. Medinilla pycnantha
6. Medinilla teysmannii
7. Medinilla banahaensis
8. Medinilla dolichophylla
9. Medinilla surigaoensis
And my waitlists are;
1. Medinilla magnifica
2. Medinilla miniata
3. Medinilla stenobotrys
4. Medinilla cumingii
5. Medinilla whitfordii, etc...
Love those Bulbo.
Massive orchid plants!Looking forward to the bloom photos.
cheers,

I have looked for miniata forever!
I have had this picture in a folder for a few years to remind me to keep looking. Not my photo.

Looks like you have your hands full just with these, Derek - nice acquisitions.
