    Default Missing Lip

This plant recently bloomed with 8 flowers. I notice that one does not have a lip. I don't think a criiter ate it, so could this be some type of genetic defect?
    I haven't seen this before.

"Lipless" cattleyas are not so uncommon. That flower could not remember how to make a lip, that's all. Next bloom will be normal. Are you using any chemicals?

I thought the same thing. As the page was opening, I was thinking "Don't give me any lip!" and I guess that's what it did!

Am I using any chemicals? Well I did drop a little acid back in the 60's. There may have been some cannabis in Nam but I've been clean for a while. Oh, maybe you meant for the PLANT! I use MSU fertilizer and a little touch of methane.
